While on campus last week to meet with students who are considering religious vocations, the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles paid a visit to St. Thérèse Hall. Sr. Elizabeth Therese, O.C.D., and Sr. Maria Goretti, O.C.D., joined some 50 women for tea and cookies, after which they spoke about Carmelite spirituality, growing in one’s relationship with God, and their own vocations stories.

“Having tea with the sisters was such a beautiful experience,” said senior Emily Lyons. “Sr. Maria Goretti talked to us about Carmelite spirituality and the love and joy of the community was so visible in her. The sisters knew how much we all love Maggie Conklin (’17),and took a video of her sending us a message. The evening felt like a respite from the stress of school, and we all got to bask in the love of the sisters.”

“Thomas Aquinas ������ý is like a precious gem nestled in the beautiful foothills — the campus and the students are pervaded with a peace and notable charism of a love for truth, learning, and true communion, which has its foundation in their love for God,” said Sr. Elizabeth Therese and Sr. Maria Goretti. “We also experienced a great warmth and welcoming receptivity from all the students and staff. We are greatly blessed by our continued friendship with the students!”
