This past weekend some 25 Thomas Aquinas ¹û¶³´«Ã½ seniors and tutors enjoyed an educational tour of one of Los Angeles’s finest art museums led by an expert docent — ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Governor Maria O. Grant.

Saturday’s visit to Pasadena’s Norton Simon Museum was one of three such outings arranged, sponsored, and directed by Mrs. Grant, who is a Museum Educator at the Norton Simon and previously served as an Overseer at the Huntington Library in San Marino. In November Mrs. Grant led a group of students on a tour of the Getty Center, and in February she took them to the Getty Villa.

The tours, which focus on works of art that bear a connection to the works students read in the ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s classical curriculum, have become something of a ¹û¶³´«Ã½ tradition. Mrs. Grant first began leading them in 2010 in order to supplement the ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s curriculum and because, as she put it, “We have access to some of the best museums in the world.â€
