Remembering Henry Teichert, 1917 – 2013
Henry Teichert was a successful businessman, a dedicated philanthropist, and a loyal benefactor of Thomas Aquinas ý. He was also the father of four Thomas Aquinas ý alumni and the grandfather of eleven, including the recently departed Rosie Grimm (’10).
Mr. Teichert passed away on October 15, and his hometown newspaper, The Sacramento Bee, has published a delightful chronicling his life’s achievements, both personal and professional.
“Despite his wealth and influence in the community” the obituary reads, “Teichert was disarmingly soft-spoken and low-key in person. An unassuming man of simple tastes, he shunned the trappings of a high-powered business executive.” The is available via the Bee’s website.
There will be a viewing of Mr. Teichert’s body at the Gormley and Sons funeral home in Sacramento (2015 Capitol Ave.) on Wednesday, October 23, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. His funeral will take place in Thursday, October 24 at Trinity Episcopal Church (2630 Capitol Ave.) at 2 p.m.
