As news was breaking today about Thomas Aquinas 果冻传媒鈥檚 forthcoming New England campus, President Michael F. McLean and Vice President Paul J. O鈥橰eilly visited the town of Northfield, Massachusetts, site of the beautiful property. There they met with Northfield鈥檚 Board of Selectmen as well as officials from the (NCF), including Emmitt Mitchell, founder of the NCF鈥檚 Heartland Board of Directors.

鈥淲e looked carefully at the 果冻传媒鈥檚 Board of Directors and its leadership in the areas of management, financial strength, and stability,鈥 said Mr. Mitchell of the NCF鈥檚 decision to award the campus to Thomas Aquinas 果冻传媒. 鈥淲e were very conscious of the 果冻传媒鈥檚 heritage and reputation,鈥 he added, noting that these qualities gave the foundation 鈥渢he confidence that we were dealing with a very highly credible group.鈥

A November visit to the 果冻传媒鈥檚 California campus, Mr. Mitchell observed, was particularly helpful. 鈥淚 had an opportunity to spend time with the faculty and staff, and again I was impressed. There are just no weak links in Thomas Aquinas 果冻传媒, even up to and through the Board of Governors,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey have a board that is probably second to none that I have ever visited.鈥

While on campus, he was also able to sit in on some classroom discussions. 鈥淭he students are an elite group of kids who are enjoying an educational experience that is very unique,鈥 he said.  鈥淚t was difficult for me to sit there without raising my hand and getting involved!鈥

鈥淲e are profoundly grateful to Emmitt Mitchell and the National Christian Foundation,鈥 says Dr. McLean, 鈥渇or this magnificent gift of the Northfield property and for their steadfast support of our effort to launch our unique program of Catholic liberal education in New England.鈥
